About the Role

Christchurch Sexual Health Service (CSHS) is a community-based outpatient department of Te Whatu Ora Waitaha Canterbury located at 314 Riccarton Road, Upper Riccarton, Christchurch. It is the centre of excellence for sexual health medicine within Te Waipounamu, with superb support offered by our consultants and multi-disciplinary team, both within the service and other subspeciality services that we collaborate with in the provision of clinical care.

CSHS is accredited for 24 months full time equivalent training in Sexual Health Medicine as part of the RACP Australasian Chapter of Sexual Health Medicine advanced vocational training scheme. This position is a 0.8 FTE role, for the period of equivalent accredited training as an advanced vocational registrar in Sexual Health Medicine, / or for 6 months advanced training rotational position for other subspeciality training schemes. You will gain a wide variety of experience in general sexual health medicine care and treatment of patients presenting to the CSHS within Health New Zealand Waitaha Canterbury, and other patients for whom the advice of the Sexual Health Service is sought, in conjunction with service guidelines and Christchurch Hospital policies.

About you

• You will either be currently advanced training in Sexual Health or eligible to advance train in Sexual Health from 2 February 2026
• Knowledge and commitment of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how the principles can be applied to health.
• A willingness to grow and further develop an equity lens and skillset, both to assist Māori and minority groups.
• You must be eligible for general or provisional general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. You can check your eligibility by visiting the Council's website at
