Are you an experienced Project Manager with an engineering background, looking to take ownership of complex land development projects from concept through to delivery?
I am currently working with a established consultancy that has built a strong reputation across the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions. With in-house expertise across engineering, surveying, and planning, this locally owned firm delivers a wide range of land development and infrastructure projects — from residential subdivisions through to large-scale commercial and industrial developments.
As their Waikato presence continues to grow, they're now seeking a skilled Senior Project Manager to join their close-knit team and play a key role in driving project success and client relationships.
The RoleYou'll lead land development and civil engineering projects from feasibility through to construction and handover — coordinating internal teams, managing budgets, and ensuring quality outcomes for clients.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Managing project delivery across civil design, surveying, and planning disciplines
- Liaising with clients, contractors, and local authorities to ensure smooth project progress
- Overseeing budgets, schedules, and project risk
- Providing technical input and quality assurance through the project lifecycle
- Contributing to proposals, repeat business, and ongoing client partnerships
You'll be supported by an experienced leadership team who value initiative, collaboration, and local expertise — and you'll have the opportunity to help shape the continued growth of their Waikato operations.
About YouWe're looking for someone who brings both technical insight and strong project leadership:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in civil engineering
- 8+ years proven experience managing land development or infrastructure projects within an NZ based consulting environment
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project delivery within New Zealand's regulatory environment
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver quality outcomes
This would suit an experienced Civil Engineer or Project Manager ready to step into a client-facing, leadership-focused role where you can make a tangible impact on regional development.
Why Apply?- Join a respected local consultancy with a strong project pipeline and long-term client base
- Enjoy autonomy, professional growth, and flexible work-life balance
- Be part of a supportive team culture that values quality, integrity, and sustainability
- Genuine opportunity to contribute to the growth of the Waikato office & beyond
If you're looking for a role that blends technical expertise, project leadership, and regional impact — this is an excellent opportunity to join a business that values people, relationships, and long-term success.
