We're looking for dedicated and experienced Support Workers to provide high-quality care to clients with spinal cord injuries and other complex care needs in Tauranga and Rotorua. These long-term clients require full personal support, clinical care tasks, assistance with daily routines, community access, hoisting, bowel and bladder management, skin checks, and structured daily care.

We have permanent, casual, and temporary shifts available over December, January, and February, with the possibility of ongoing permanent work beyond this period. We are particularly seeking staff for morning, afternoon, weekend, and sleepover shifts, with opportunities to pick up additional hours when available.

About the Role

You'll work one-on-one with clients in their homes and local communities. Responsibilities may include:

  • Full personal care for clients with limited mobility
  • Hoisting, manual handling, and assisted transfers
  • Bowel and bladder care (training provided)
  • Skin integrity monitoring for high-risk clients
  • Stretches and mobility support
  • Household tasks and meal preparation
  • Medication administration within scope
  • Supporting community access (shopping, appointments, social visits)

Support Workers will follow detailed care plans and routines, especially for clients with high-level spinal cord injuries who require consistent and structured support.

What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience as a Support Worker or in a similar role

    (experience with spinal cord injury or complex care is highly preferred)
  • Based in Tauranga and Rotorua or nearby, with reliable transport
  • Available for a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and sleepovers
  • Confident with hoisting and full personal cares (or open to training)
  • NZ residency or valid work visa
  • Willingness to study toward NZQA Health and Wellbeing qualifications
  • A strong commitment to long-term support work and stable client relationships
