About the Role

You'll play a key part in assessing, designing, and advising on geotechnical conditions for residential, commercial, and civil projects.

You'll liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to provide cost-effective, safe, and practical engineering solutions that get projects moving.


Core Responsibilities

  • Conduct geotechnical analysis and studies to assess construction site conditions
  • Perform and report on slope stability and liquefaction analyses
  • Assist with report writing, addressing RFIs, and reviewing technical data
  • Support and train field technicians and graduate engineers
  • Participate in field and environmental investigations
  • Review and improve testing procedures for the Geotechnical team
  • Collaborate closely with the Team on project delivery, timing, and pricing
  • Provide weekly workload updates and contribute to team development
  • Communicate effectively with clients to understand requirements and explain findings in clear, practical terms

  • Familiar with:

  • CPET-IT
  • Bluebeam
  • Foundation and retaining wall design software
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Hands-on field experience in New Zealand geotechnical environments

About You

  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or newly chartered
  • Minimum 2 years' New Zealand experience in geotechnical engineering
  • Solution-focused, with a practical, contractor-friendly mindset
  • Excellent communication skills — able to explain technical concepts clearly and simply
  • Passionate about mentoring and continuous improvement
