Role Details

Based at Wiri, Auckland and reporting to the Production Manager, this role oversees converting crews to deliver safe, reliable and on-time production. You'll monitor workflow, support quick issue resolution, and ensure quality standards are met. Building team capability is key - including coaching, clear communication and maintaining training compliance. You'll also work with technical, maintenance and customer service teams to keep operations running smoothly and contribute to ongoing performance improvements.

What You'll Do


• Drive a strong safety culture and ensure full HSE compliance


• Improve workflow by identifying and resolving bottlenecks


• Reduce waste through targeted continuous improvement activity


• Manage performance and oversee team training needs


• Communicate priorities through toolbox talks and meetings


• Investigate quality issues, complete NCRs and implement corrective actions


• Work with technical and maintenance teams to resolve issues promptly


• Escalate serious safety, quality or operational risks


• Support site-wide improvement and efficiency projects

What You Will Bring


• Previous experience supervising manufacturing operations in a high-volume environment


• Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills


• Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing principles (desirable)


• Knowledge of corrugated cardboard or converting processes (desirable)


• Relevant certifications (e.g., working at heights) and licences (forklift desirable)


• Strong problem-solving skills, pragmatic attitude, and results-focused mindset
