Our teams are our greatest asset and we are committed to employing and training the best people. NZCL is looking for energetic and motivated people to support our clients in residential service in New Plymouth.

We are looking for permanent full-time leave cover Support Workers to work alongside, coach, and mentor rangatahi and tamariki in our Intensive Support Services in New Plymouth.

What does a Support Worker do? - He aha te mahi a te Kaimahi Tautoko?

Our Support Workers assist rangatahi and tamariki who access our services to live as independently as possible in their community.

You will:

  • Work as a team to ensure consistency in your approach
  • Support tamariki or rangatahi to go to school or access education
  • Observe and respond to health concerns or support the overall health and wellbeing of the young person
  • Support rangatahi/young people to work towards and attain their goals and improve outcomes

Who are we looking for? - Ko wai ta tatou e rapu ana?

  • A desire to support our rangatahi/young people to learn new skills and achieve outcomes
  • Previous experience working with young people/rangatahi
  • An understanding of intellectual disability and autism
  • Creativity, 'out of the box' thinking, and a team player
  • A full NZ driver's licence

Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness are important in this role as the people we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests.
