Critical
Conversant with 3 waters, 5-10 years experience, Qualifications Bachelor Engineering or similar. Must have broad knowledge of Watercare's , policies, process, systems, & materials . Must have strong leadership working with cultural diversity,
Specializing in in delivering complex water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure
projects focusing on planning, design, construction, and resource consenting for large scale
assets, ensuring alignment with asset management plans, managing budgets, technical
aspects, and stakeholder engagement
Positions Supervised: Site Supervisors, Water Fitters, Drivers, Operators, Labourers,
Apprentices, Sub-Contractors and other project staff
Primary Objectives:
? To complete all Civil/water work efficiently and effectively whilst maintaining a safe
working environment that meets all City Contractors Ltd and network operators' standards
and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
? Operations
o Preparing work schedule for positions supervised
o Preparation of Project Documentation ie SWMS and Procedures etc
o Coordinate staff to complete electrical work
o Coordinate subcontractors involved with electrical work
o Site Inspections and audits
o Evaluate subcontractors for civil/water works
o Complete and Lodge paperwork required on job completion
o Follow up and complete all unfinished projects

o Ensure all works are constructed to client and City Contractors Ltd Method Statement
standards efficiently
? OH&S
o Implement the occupational health and safety policy and management plan.
o Ensure compliance by all employees, contractors and visitors with regard to both the
plan and policy.
o Monitor the effectiveness of the Occupational Health and Safety Plan.
o Ensure the occupational health and safety policy and plan are included in the
planning phase of any new project.
o Ensure safe work practices are adhered to.
o Ensure all employees, contractors and visitors comply with the requirements of the
Occupational Health and Safety Management Plan and occupational health and safety policy.
? Environment
o Ensure that all Legislative and City Contractors Ltd environmental procedures and
standards are applied
o Implement the environmental management policy and management plan.
o Ensure compliance by all employees, contractors and visitors with regard to both the
plan and policy.
o Monitor the effectiveness of the Environmental Management Plan.
o Ensure the environmental management policy and plan are included in the planning
phase of any new project.
o Ensuring that environmental best practice is adhered to.
o Ensuring all employees, contractors and visitors comply with the requirements of the
Environmental Management Plan and the Environmental policy
? Authority
o Correspondence / Documentation
o The position is authorised is produce any documentation necessary to conduct day to
day administration of the nominated project(s). This includes variation notifications and
valuations for "typical" variation works. Correspondence relating to "Non-Typical" variation
works must be discussed and agreed upon with your Manager.
o All correspondence that has a legal, commercial, or contractual impact or is
potentially contentious must be approved by your manager.
o Project Expenditure: the position is authorised to spend up to the value of NZ$10,000
without further approval. Notwithstanding the value nominated above, where expenditure is
expected to exceed budget, approval from your manager is required;
o Capital Expenditure: Nil
o The Position has NO Authority to hire or terminate employees.
