Our client provides expert services and solutions to support a range of industrial and infrastructure projects.

About the role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will drive the Health and Safety strategy for the business and have oversight of the HR function. Contributing to the implementation and continuous improvement of systems, policies, and processes, you will work closely with senior leadership, site managers and project managers across multiple sites.

Some travel across the North Island will be required. 50 hour work week with occasional weekend work when necessary.

Duties

  • Provide technical support to management for decision making and tender applications
  • Conduct audits and site visits, driving continuous improvement
  • Lead HSE and HR reporting
  • Oversee HR function, being the first point of contact for all staff
  • Contractor management

Skills and experience 

  • Health and Safety experience in high-risk, heavy industry, engineering, civil construction or mining essential
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills
  • Broad knowledge of Human Resource functions
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
