About the Role:

This is a pivotal opportunity for a Senior Tax Consultant looking to contribute strategic insight and technical expertise to a growing tax advisory practice. You'll play a crucial role in guiding clients through complex tax environments and mentoring junior professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review high-level tax reports, returns, and client documentation across various entity types.
  • Identify tax issues, conduct in-depth research, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Monitor statutory and regulatory tax changes relevant to client portfolios.
  • Provide technical training and mentoring to less experienced staff.
  • Attend and contribute to client meetings and Inland Revenue interactions.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • CA or equivalent qualification with proven experience in New Zealand tax advisory.
  • 4+ years of proven NZ tax experience within a professional service firm
  • In-depth knowledge of international tax regimes and domestic legislation (CFC, FIF, transfer pricing).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound judgement in technical tax matters.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including client correspondence.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and review work of junior team members.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines independently.
  • Comfortable engaging with Inland Revenue and negotiating audit resolutions.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and keeping current with industry developments.
