Position Overview:
We are seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Building Services Engineering Apprentices at our client sites. This 4-year apprenticeship program will provide you with comprehensive training in the maintenance and repair of essential building services systems across our prestigious museum sites.

About The Role
Building Services Engineering is a specialist branch of engineering within the Facilities Management sector that makes buildings work effectively and efficiently. As an apprentice in this field, you will learn to plan and complete a variety of maintenance activities involving industrial and commercial building services engineering systems, including ventilation, heating, and water supply systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance on building services systems
  • Complete remedial and corrective repairs as required
  • Monitor and manage plant and equipment operation using building and energy management systems
  • Fault find, diagnose, repair, and maintain systems, components, and equipment
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues before they become major problems
  • Maintain detailed records of work completed, including repairs and replacements
  • Ensure compliance with current industry standards and regulations
  • Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, site managers, and other trades on site
  • Work collaboratively with our experienced engineering teams

Work Environment
You will work at one of our clients facilities, maintaining the complex building systems.

Qualifications And Requirements

  • Enthusiasm for building services engineering and problem-solving
  • Good communication skills for interacting with team members and site managers
  • Detail-oriented approach and commitment to quality
  • Willingness to learn about environmental regulations and industry standards
  • English and mathematics qualifications in line with apprenticeship funding rules

  • BEMS (Building Energy Management Systems) Controls Engineer
  • Building Services Engineering Technician
  • Building Services Engineering Senior Technician
  • Building Services Engineering Site Management (degree)
