This is a full-time (40 hours per week) role, Monday to Friday, within office hours (approx. 8:30am–5:00pm), based in our Greymouth office. · Providing advocacy and practical support for women and children affected by family violence
· Attending meetings and representing the Refuge within the community
· Contributing to reporting and accountability requirements
· Participating in the after-hours roster for crisis line calls and safehouse intakes
About you
We're looking for someone who is motivated, values social justice, compassionate, proactive and can work both independently and as part of a supportive team. You will bring:
· A passion for working alongside women, children, and whānau
· A commitment to promoting a violence-free lifestyle
· Initiative, creativity, and a "think outside the square" approach
· Strong teamwork skills and a flexible, can-do attitude
· Ability to work unsupervised, multitask, and stay calm under pressure
· Excellent time management and organisational skills
· Clear written and verbal communication skills, including strong record-keeping, note-taking, and confidentiality
· Excellent administration skills and advanced computer capability (Microsoft Office 365 and database systems) — accountability standards are high
· A clean, full driver's licence and confidence driving on the Coast
· No criminal history and willingness to undergo Police vetting
· Confidence networking and collaborating with other community professionals
Experience in social services and/or an understanding of family violence is a strong advantage, however full training and induction will be provided to the successful applicant.
