Mex Holding Limited is a property development and investment company based in Auckland, specialising in high- and medium-density residential and commercial projects. We manage all aspects of the development process from acquisition and design to construction and delivery.
The Role
We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our growing finance team. The successful candidate will support financial planning, reporting, and risk management functions across multiple development projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Ø Analyse revenue streams, direct costs, and net margins across residential and commercial projectsPrepare short and long-term cash flow forecasts to ensure adequate liquidity for project execution.
Ø Monitor funding timelines and align forecasts with project schedules.
Ø Coordinate the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
Ø Investigate budget deviations and provide explanations with actionable insights to management.
Ø Evaluate the financial impact of operational and market risks on project viability.
Ø Assist in designing strategies to hedge financial exposures related to interest rates, costs, or fun dingEnsure all reporting aligns with New Zealand's financial reporting standards, including IRD requirements.
Ø Oversee GST, PAYE, and income tax lodgements in collaboration with external accountants as needed.
Ø Construct financial models to evaluate new developments, land acquisitions, and funding options.
Ø Assess internal rates of return (lRR), net present values (NPV), and scenario outcomes.
Ø Review current accounting workflows and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
Ø Support the implementation of new financial systems or upgrades as directed. Compile reports for lenders, board members, and joint venture partners on project financial statusDeliver presentations summarising financial performance, risks, and projections.
Ø Liaise with development managers, architects, legal advisors, and procurement teams to align financial expectations with operational targets.
Ø Support funding submissions, including documentation preparation for finance institutions.
Qualifications and Experience (Required):
To be considered, applicants must meet at least one of the following:
Ø A Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field OR
Ø At least 3 years of relevant full-time work experience in financial analysis or accounting
Skills and Attributes:
Strong analytical and financial modelling skills
Solid understanding of NZ financial regulations (e.g., GST, IRD reporting)
Excellent communication and reporting abilities
Proficiency with accounting systems and Excel
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
