Te tūranga – The role

We are recruiting for a Legal Counsel - Legislation to join our busy Legal Services Directorate. Reporting to the Associate General Counsel - Legislation, you will provide expert legal advice. You will enjoy engaging with the legal, policy, and operational teams at the Reserve Bank to deliver results.

Ō pūkenga – About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • a proven ability to provide high quality and robust legal advice; and

  • experience with turning policy into law (including experience instructing PCO); and

  • an interest in financial regulation; and

  • high quality written and oral presentation and communication skills; and

  • the ability to build and maintain strong relationships to work in partnership with our policy and operational teams and with external lawyers, as required.

You must be eligible to hold a current New Zealand legal practising certificate.
