We are on the lookout for a standout Line Mechanic Team Leader located at Masterton - someone who's ready to bring leadership, expertise, and energy to our high-performing Lines Team. About the role

In this pivotal role, you'll be the driving force behind the day-to-day operations of the Lines Team. You'll ensure projects run smoothly, safely, and efficiently, while fostering a strong team culture and delivering work our customers can trust.

You'll take the lead on:

  • Coordinating work programmes, planning ahead, and keeping everything running like clockwork
  • Driving team performance through smart scheduling, cost management, and resource allocation
  • Building genuine, long-term customer relationships, positioning Horizon Services as the go-to provider
  • Supporting continuous improvement and lifting technical excellence across the team

About you

You're someone who leads by example, skilled, steady under pressure, and committed to quality.

You'll also bring:

  • A current NZ EWRB Practising Licence
  • NZ Line Mechanic Qualification
  • Live-line experience (a bonus, not a must)
  • A current unrestricted Full NZ Driver Licence (including heavy traffic)
  • 5+ years' experience in the trade with strong technical proficiency
  • Solid understanding of distribution systems up to 33kV
  • Knowledge of industry standards, safety legislation, and compliant work practices
  • Strength in customer service, staff leadership, and (ideally) contract management
  • Exceptional planning, coordination, and organisational skills
