The RoleThis Test Lead position is a full-time, permanent, Senior Consulting role, with aminimum requirement of 40 hours per week. The initial engagement requires an experienced Test Lead to operate onsite in the Wellington CBD.Your focus will be on setting our client up for success by supporting the delivery of world-class quality assurance software solutions to a major public sector project.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the software testing team, overseeing work distribution and quality review to ensure optimal team utilization and timely project delivery.
  • Act as the dedicated testing owner and escalation point for testing issues across assigned squads/technology streams.
  • Proven expertise across the Salesforce ecosystem, including the Core Platform (Sales/Service Cloud) and external-facing solutions like Employer and Partner Portals (Experience Cloud)
  • Translate the high-level Programme Test Strategy into actionable plans for the team, cascading best practices to maintain seamless alignment between team deliverables and the overall organizational test governance
  • Applying expertise in determining risks and priorities for testing efforts.
  • Acting as a mentor and coach to testing team members, including providing formal feedback to people leaders that is incorporated into performance reviews.

About You

You will bring a wealth of experience in high-impact, business-critical testing environments, ideally within the public sector. You will be comfortable engaging with stakeholders across all levels of an organisation and acting as the main test representative within delivery squads. In addition to your hands-on experience, you will also:

  • Bring a minimum of 8+ years experience in formal software testing, with exposure to test planning and a proven experience in a lead capacity.
  • Be experienced in applying established knowledge of the New Zealand public sector environment, particularly relating to business-critical systems.
  • Be proficient in modern methodologies, and experienced in the full test scope: system, integration, regression, end-to-end testing, exploratory testing.
  • Be comfortable with key test management and reporting tools, including but not limited to Jira and Qmetry

Qualifications and Certifications


• Relevant Degree or Tertiary qualification (IT, Technology,Testing,Statistical analysis) or equivalent experience

• Hold the ISTQB Advanced Test Manager (or similar) certification.
