This is a full time position of 40 hours per week

The remuneration range for this role is $117,099 to $165,316 p.a (including KiwiSaver) depending on skills and experience

The opportunity
The Engineering Lead provides strategic and technical leadership to ensure the planning and early design of resilient, high-performing, and fit-for-purpose water infrastructure across the region. This role leads the Engineering Services Networks team in delivering investigations and studies that inform investment decisions and support Wellington Water's long-term strategic outcomes.

You will competently be able to lead through change as we experience transition into the establishment of a new water entity. This is a time of significant growth as we build our in-house capability and grow our programme of work. A leadership and development opportunity not to be missed.

About You
To be successful in this role you will bring:

  • 10+ years post qualification experience working at a senior level, preferably in 3 waters
  • A Bachelor of Engineering or Diploma in Engineering (preferably civil or environmental engineering), Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or working towards this
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a team of engineers
  • Technical knowledge across 3 waters engineering including climate change resilience
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills
  • Proven collaborator – able to surface the most important issues, bring the right people together and facilitate robust decision making
