DELIVERY DRIVER / WAREHOUSE STORE PERSON

We are a furniture retailer in NZ, stocking a variety of quality outdoor furniture, imported directly to our warehouses and delivered to customers. We are looking for a motivated, physically fit and, ideally, experienced warehouse storeman / delivery driver. The permanent part-time role is based at our Auckland Warehouse/Showroom in Rosedale on the North Shore. This is a varied role and will include warehousing and delivery driving, with approximately one to two days per week delivering in Tauranga/Hamilton.

This job requires loading/unloading and heavy lifting/moving of furniture, so you will need to be fit and strong and able to do manual handling on a regular basis.

The average hours are approximately 20 hours per week - less in autumn/winter, more in spring/summer. It would be great if you have the flexibility to work more hours when required, especially during our busy spring/summer season (daily start/finish times will vary depending on our customer delivery schedule and trips out of Auckland). Hours are negotiable for the right person. Our delivery schedule can be organised to some extent around your other commitments.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Heavy lifting/moving - a daily part of the role
  • General warehouse duties – keeping it tidy and organised
  • Picking customer orders ready for freight dispatch
  • Loading van for deliveries
  • Delivering around Auckland and once weekly to Tauranga/Hamilton
  • Unloading stock from containers/trucks and checking off accurately
  • Keeping delivery van clean and tidy

To be considered for this position you will need to have the following skills and qualities:

Skills and Attributes:

  • Physically fit and strong - as we are an outdoor furniture business, heavy lifting will be required.
  • Reliable with a good work ethic
  • Organised and accurate
  • Excellent driving skills with a current full NZ Driver's License
  • Able to work independently but also follow instructions when needed
  • Provide good customer service – you will be representing our business while out on deliveries
  • Flexible to work more or less hours as required
  • Ideally reside close to Rosedale or the North Shore

Hourly rate will be discussed at the interview and will depend on your relevant skills and experience. Start date as soon as possible.
