Head Chef

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and talented Head Chef to join our team at the Wanaka Speight's Ale House. As our Head Chef, you will be responsible for leading and managing our kitchen operations, creating exceptional dining experiences for our customers, and driving innovation in our menu. This is a full-time role based in Wanaka.

What you'll be doing

1. Overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu planning, inventory management, and staff supervision
2. Developing and implementing creative, high-quality menu items that showcase your culinary expertise and align with the Speight's Ale House brand
3. Ensuring the highest standards of food safety, quality, and presentation
4. Fostering a positive and productive kitchen environment, providing training and development opportunities for your team
5. Collaborating with the Front of House team to drive sales, control costs, and continuously improve the customer experience

What we're looking for

1. Experience in a busy kitchen and experience leading a team in this environment. You don't need to be a Head Chef already, we are also open for candidates ready to take the next step in their career.
2. Strong knowledge of food safety, inventory management, and cost control.
3. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a talented kitchen team
