Epsom, New Zealand Writer's Toolbox Full time NZ$80,000 - NZ$120,000 per year

About us:

Writer's Toolbox is a multi-award-winning Education Technology company, delivering writing improvement programmes using SaaS delivery to hundreds of schools globally and proven to achieve more than double national writing outcomes. With teams across New Zealand, Australia, and the UK, Toolbox has an established programme that is gaining international reputation for its ability to deliver education transformation at scale using cutting-edge AI.

About the role:

We are looking for a senior English specialist who is passionate about writing and education, to join our talented and growing team based in Epsom, Auckland. We will support and train you to be a Writer's Toolbox Writing Coach, and you'll be out in the field, working with teachers and schools, helping them to lift writing outcomes across all subject areas. This is an opportunity to take what you have done in a single school, and bring your skills to a bigger stage.

Our programmes are delivered via Zoom and in person; some travel is required. Yes, this role will take you out of the classroom—but you will stay boots and all in education as you will run workshops and coaching sessions designed to improve school writing outcomes.

What do you need? Firstly, you will be a senior English specialist teacher or head of department and have been doing your craft well in schools for over ten years. You'll need to understand the challenges of the classroom, and have a passion for seeing others succeed in education.

Secondly, you have to love using educational technology and the possibilities that the IT world offers education today. This includes experience or a strong interest in using Writer's Toolbox.

Thirdly, our business is seeing schools succeed in writing. So, writing improvement—across every subject area—should be your thing.

You should have:

  • Specialist knowledge in English, literacy and writing improvement
  • At least 10 years of senior teaching experience, potentially as a Head of Department, and have a track record of mentoring others
  • Experience, exposure or strong interest in using Writer's Toolbox
  • Be a strong communicator who loves seeing real change in education
  • Have very strong writing skills
  • Be organised, confident, and proactive
  • Have a high degree of computer literacy & be digitally adept
  • Have a passion for seeing teachers and students succeed

What we offer:

  • A competitive remuneration package including free health insurance for you, and discounted premiums for your family
  • Flexible ways of working
  • Purpose-driven work within a growing EdTech company
  • A friendly office environment featuring complimentary fruit, regular team lunches, and free street parking.

To apply:

Please respond with your CV and a covering letter telling us why this is the role for you.

Due to the nature of our business, successful applicants will be required to undergo police and background checks.
