Attendance Advisors - Attendance Service(Taupo Based)

We are seeking an attendance advisor to join the Taupō - Turangi Attendance Service, based at Tauhara College in Taupo.

The hours for this position is 35 hours per week (term time only), with a start date of 27 January 2025.

Specifics - key duties/functions

You will need to take the lead on forming relational connections between schools, their students and whanau to ensure students are regularly attending.

In doing so you would work to encourage the following:

  • Removing any barriers that are preventing regular attendance
  • Ensuring each whanau has access to school resources and support
  • Linking whanau with external support services as needed
  • Collection and relaying of Whanau/Akonga voice.

Building relationships is a vital part of this role so the  ideal candidate will have good community connections and ideally an understanding of both social services and the education system.

Work hours are during school term time, 40 weeks per year, and we envisage these hours being split between being on-site at schools, and meeting with students and whanau in their homes.
