Going Blue is a fast growing self-guided e-bike and mountain bike tour company, and we're looking for a tour driver who knows Queenstown's trails like the back of their hand and enjoys talking to people. If you like variety, fresh air, and being the friendly face of a top-rated local adventure company, this role could fit you. We're a team of bikers passionate about helping people have the best day ever on the trails we all love and we're looking for an enthusiastic and energetic driver to join our team until at least April, with further work available over winter if desired. Willingness to obtain a passenger endorsement is essential, and confidence speaking to guests and safely transporting guests in a 12 seater van with a trailer is also mandatory.

This role will commence from early January and will interview in December to allow time for a passenger endorsement to be obtained if necessary. Expected hours are 32-45 hours a week from January.

What You'll Do
  • Drive guests to and from our tours. Tours typically start with a 20-30 minute drive to Arrowtown where the guests enjoy hearing about Queenstown and insider's tips for their ride.
  • Deliver clear, confident briefings so guests know the trail route, timings, and what to expect.
  • Load and unload bikes quickly and safely - our e-bikes are 23kg each.
  • Keep vehicles clean, organised, and presentable.
  • Quickly adapt to situations as they arise to ensure maximum guest safety and satisfaction.
  • Represent Going Blue with energy, personality, and genuine hospitality.
What You'll Bring
  • Outgoing, people-first attitude. You're relaxed, professional, and you make guests feel at ease the moment they step into the van.
  • Solid knowledge of Queenstown bike trails—Arrowtown, Gibbston, Shotover, Lake Hayes, Jack's Point. You know the terrain, the ride times, and how to explain them simply.
  • Full NZ driver licence (P-Endorsement is mandatory to start in this role).
  • Confidence driving a van with a trailer, including reversing.
  • Able to give bike demonstration talks adequately teaching guests how to use different components of the bike.
  • Reliability. On time, every time.
  • Safety conscious - when driving, lifting, and debriefing guests on their tours.
  • Weekend availability required, although we all enjoy a flexible holiday schedule.
