Junior Designer

We're looking for a Junior Designer to join our Customer Engagement Team, a creative all-rounder with an eye for design, attention to detail, and a love of travel. You'll work closely with our Creative Director, campaign, social, and digital teams to produce beautiful, effective creative that connects with customers across every channel while aligning to our brand visual tone.

About the role

As Junior Designer, you'll be part of the team responsible for delivering compelling brand and digital communications that attract and inspire travelers across New Zealand. Working within our Customer Engagement team, you'll collaborate with our Creative Director, campaign, social, and digital specialists as well as external agencies and production partners to produce high-quality creative artwork across every channel.

You'll create and deliver design assets across digital, print, and social platforms from concept development through to finished art. The work is varied: one day you might be designing landing pages or social assets, the next you'll be refining retail focused press ads or preparing in-store collateral for dispatch.

This role offers the perfect mix of design and production combining creative problem-solving with strong technical execution. You'll gain hands-on exposure to the full campaign process and learn how a national retail travel brand goes to market, building your skills while helping grow engagement, sales, and brand awareness.

What you'll be doing

• Create design collateral for campaigns, social media and online channels
• Design deal tiles, landing pages, and product imagery for
• Produce and edit social content - Posts, Reefs Stories, Instant Experience etc
• Design and finish print and in-store collateral including posters and signage
• Update branded Canva templates and assist with internal presentations
• Prepare and dispatch artwork for press and retail marketing
• Assist with content layout for brochures and branded communications
• Collaborate across teams to deliver engaging, on-brand creative
• Support campaign rollouts under the guidance of the Creative Director

What we're looking for

• 2-4 years' experience in a design or production role (retail/FMCG preferred)
• Solid grasp of layout, typography, colour, and visual hierarchy
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD)
• Familiarity with Figma/Sketch and Canva for fast-turnaround work
• Understanding of print specs (CMYK vs PANTONE, bleeds, resolution)
• Experience preparing assets for digital environments – social, email, website, in-store screens etc.
• Basic image retouching and photo editing skills
• Strong organisational skills with an ability to juggle competing priorities
• Collaborative mindset and confidence working with multiple teams
• High level of craft with ability to illustrate from simple vector artwork to hand drawn masterpieces is a bonus.

Nice-to-Have

• Video editing and gif creation for digital assets – using Adobe Premiere Pro, Canva, or Cap Cut
• Basic motion graphic animation using Adobe After Effects
• Exposure to UI/UX or eCommerce design
• Photography or videography experience for social content capture
• Experience in a franchise or multi-store retail model
