The Role

PKW is a values-led organisation where the work of our Executive Assistant supports leaders to deliver real, positive impact for our Rautitikura whanau — not just for today, but for generations to come.

We are seeking a sharp, highly organised and relationship-savvy support specialist.  One who takes pride in providing awhi and manaaki to leaders focused on delivering impact.

This is more than a support role — it is a key position at the centre of our kaupapa.

This role will work closely with our Te Rau Whakapuāwai (Head of Corporate Services) to ensure our executive services and governance functions run smoothly and with excellence. Days will be full and diverse — providing top-tier executive support, coordinating governance documentation, managing internal administrative and document control systems.  The role will also contribute to the wider Corporate Services Team mahi, with a key responsibility being the coordination of our internal payroll function.

We are seeking a person that can bring both structure and a steady āhua to the team — ensuring people are supported, documents flow, meetings are prepared, and every interaction reflects our values.

Key responsibilities of our Te Raupī Rau Matomato include:

· Providing high-level executive support to the PKW Governance Group, Te Rau Matomato (CEO) and Te Rau Manawanui (Executive Leadership Team), including diary management, travel coordination, and professional communications

· Organisation and collation of documentation for executive and governance meetings/events and activities, including agendas, briefing packs, and accurate minutes

· Maintaining governance document systems and ensuring version control across policies, procedures, and decision records

· Coordination and oversight of our internal payroll function by providing support and guidance to our internal and external payroll team, ensuring integrity, accuracy, and care.

· Contributing to the overall effectiveness of the Corporate Services team.

About You

You will be a steady presence in busy environments, trusted to manage competing priorities with calm, confidence, and care. You will bring experience supporting senior leaders and understand the importance of discretion, professionalism, and follow-through.

But more than that — you are values-driven. You believe in supporting leadership that uplifts and advances the aspirations of our Rautitikura and honours their legacy and culture.

We invite applications from candidates who resonate with the description above and who have the following:

· At least 3 years' experience in executive assistance, senior administration, or governance support roles

· Proven ability to support senior leaders in a fast-paced environment

· Strong working knowledge of document, calendar, and travel management systems

· Experience working in a governance or legal environment is advantageous

· Familiarity with payroll systems and coordination responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate understanding and empathy with Māori aspirations for Maori economic development and of tikanga Māori.

An excellent opening, this role presents an exciting career opportunity to join a purpose-led organisation committed to the long-term prosperity of our people. This role is for those looking to contribute their expertise in a whanau-based, dynamic and future-focused organisation based in the beautiful region of Taranaki.
