About the Role

We are now seeking Te Rau Hīri General Manager Renewable Energy who is a strategic leader that champions innovation, leads energy developments, and ensures our renewable energy investments deliver cultural, environmental, and economic benefits for generations to come.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Te Rau Hīri General Manager Renewable Energy will lead the strategy, planning and delivery of renewable energy initiatives across the PKW Group. From concept and feasibility through to execution and operation, this role will oversee solar, wind, hydro and energy storage projects that advance our long-term outcomes framework, Te Ara Putanga.

This position combines commercial leadership with cultural integrity — ensuring all initiatives are financially sound, environmentally responsible, and aligned with the aspirations of our people.

About You

You are an experienced and highly capable leader who understands both the commercial and cultural dimensions of renewable energy development. You will have considerable commercial and financial acumen and a proven background in strategic project delivery, stakeholder engagement, and navigating complex regulatory or partnership environments in the energy sector.

You will also bring humility, courage and a deep respect for tikanga Māori and the principles of Kaitiakitanga — leading in a way that uplifts people, protects the taiao, and delivers sustainable prosperity.

We invite applications from candidates who resonate with the description above and who have the following:

· A minimum of 5 years' experience identifying, developing and executing complex projects, particularly in the energy sector or infrastructure-based projects.

· 5 years minimum people/team leadership.

· Proven commercial and financial acumen within the energy sector.

· Considerable experience in presenting strategic business / investment cases to commercially orientated Boards.

· Proven success in developing and delivering commercial strategies and partnerships.

· Ability to engage effectively with iwi, hapū and commercial stakeholders.

· Commitment to advancing Māori aspirations through sustainable development.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate understanding and empathy with Māori aspirations for Maori economic development and of tikanga Māori.
