Purpose of the Role

This is an entry-level Auckland-based part-time position while you are training and will grow into a permanent role as you learn programme delivery. The Youth Communicator is the face, voice, and bridge between TYIF (and our brands
Attitude

and
Burn Bright

) and rangatahi. You'll bring life to our programmes, inspire through storytelling, and hold space that is fun, authentic, and transformative. 

Core Responsibilities

Programme Delivery

Deliver well-prepared, high-quality, values-aligned programmes across Attitude, Burn Bright, and TYIF initiatives. 

Use personal stories and relatable communication to connect with rangatahi. 

Facilitate meaningful debriefs that encourage reflection and growth. 

Adapt content for authenticity and engagement; respond openly to feedback. 

Programme Development & Content Creation

Contribute to TYIF's digital content, social media, and online resources. 

Assist in creating youth-friendly workbooks, presentations, and media. 

Bring fresh ideas to the design of youth-centred materials. 

Communication, Relationship Building, Logistics

Build genuine partnerships with schools, kaiako, and community networks. 

Promote TYIF programmes with warmth and relevance to each audience. 

Be available for travel (across NZ and Australia) and evening school/community events. 

Manage preparation, delivery, and travel effectively. 

Adapt to changing timetables and opportunities—every day will look different.

Strong communicator who connects naturally with young people. 

Organised with good time-management. 

Team-focused and aligned with TYIF values. 

Desirable

Experience and qualifications in youth work, facilitation, or education. 

Familiarity with social media/digital content creation. 

Full driver's licence and ability to travel independently.
