About the role

As a Specialist Trustee – Charities, you'll play a pivotal role in establishing and administering charitable trusts for our retail customers. You'll act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance to customer centres, beneficiaries, boards, and committees. This role also involves mentoring others, supporting the growth of our Charities Team, and raising our profile in the community.

You will manage a portfolio of charitable trusts of varying complexity, having the responsibility to ensure that financial statements are produced, investment advice is followed, charitable distributions are made, grant rounds are run and applications are assessed.

You will:

• Providing a superior end to end service for our charitable trusts including the implementation of investment strategies, filing annual charities returns and charitable granting , both straightforward and complex.
• Offering a consistent and outstanding level of customer service, building trust by engaging our customers and actively anticipating and meeting their needs.
• Proactively generating and managing appointments for yourself for business development and revenue growth opportunities.
• Monitoring your performance to meet financial, customer and risk targets, and develop strategies to ensure achievement.
• Coaching and mentoring junior members of the team by proactively sharing knowledge, experiences and best practices on trustee matters.
• Contributing to the successful running of the team by collaborating with colleagues to ensure the collective success of the team.

The base salary range for this role is $99,800 + 3% Kiwisaver contribution from Public Trust

About you

• Significant experience as a Senior Trustee or in complex trust/estate administration.
• Tertiary qualification or extensive experience in legal, accountancy, commerce, or related fields.
• Previous experience as a Solicitor or Legal Executive is advantageous.
• Strong written and verbal communication and relationship-building skills.
• Commercial awareness and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to mentor and motivate others.
