We have vacancies for Pou Manaaki - Casual workers at Te Korimako in Christchurch and Te Kotuku in Invercargill, which are our 24/7 Residential facilities. The role is to provide support and assistance to Takata Whaiora (clients) living in a staffed 24/7 residential setting utilising rehabilitative principles to encourage skill development with the aim of transitioning to increasingly independent community based living on discharge.
The ideal applicant should be able to cook a meal and be available for shifts at short notice. Shifts will include nights, weekends and public holidays. All night shifts are awake shifts.
You will have some knowledge of Te Reo Maori me ona Tikaka or be willing to undertake training, have a strong people focus, be non-judgmental and have a broad general life skill base. Previous experience working in a community residential setting as a support worker is preferred but not essential to be successful in the role
Good written and verbal skills are required and you will be competent in use of computers. You will have attained or be currently studying towards the Level 4 Health and Wellbeing Certificate.
It is essential that applicants have a current Full driver's licence, as you will be required to drive the whare van to transport our residents to courses, appointments and hui at our Christchurch facility. Applicants must pass the Police Vetting process in order to work in our Residential facility.
