- Community Engagement and Mobilisation - National Bowel Screening Programme (NBSP) - Taranaki - One-year Fixed Term Contract at FTE
- This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in supporting, promoting and maximising the opportunities for eligible people within our community to participate in the Age Extension for the NBSP.
This is a newly created role to work alongside organisations and groups that have connections and relationships within the eligible population groups to undertake community initiatives to raise awareness and increase participation in the NBSP.

About the Role
The role will make a personalised first contact for priority populations eligible for the NBSP Age Extension Programme
Core activities include:
Develop and maintain positive working relationships within the community.
Understand and fulfil the engagement strategies that best support NBSP.
Work in partnership to develop initiatives designed to reach priority populations.
Localised campaigns are informed by data and are evidence based.
Deliver education and engagement sessions to groups and communities.
Contribute to the development of community resources that promote programme uptake.
Attend NBSP hui and events to support and enhance engagement in the screening programme
Provide education and promotion to eligible populations

About the Team/Service/ Location
The NBSP consists of a Specialist Lead and Clinical Nurse Specialist, along with the wider Endoscopy team, to identify, contact and support eligible individuals to participate in the NBSP.
The successful applicant will be required to work both in the hospital and within the community, be adaptable and flexible to ensure contact can be made in person with target groups.

About you
As a Community Engagement and Mobilisation staff member you will require the following experience and professional attributes:
- A relevant graduate qualification (e.g. health, community development, health promotion, education)
- 3+ years experiences in a relevant setting (health promotion, health education, oncology / cancer care)
- Experience and skills to conduct community education and promotion activities
Current clean driving license and ability to travel
- The ability to work both autonomously and as part of a wider team
Strong values that put patient first and ensure patient centred mana building enabling care
Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
