Facilities Lead General Hand

We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Facilities Lead General Hand to join our Facilities team at the Taradale Campus. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations across our campuses, including security, caretaking, and building maintenance. You'll be the go-to person for coordinating deliveries, supervising general hand staff, and supporting campus functions and fleet management. Your contribution will help maintain a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for staff, students, and visitors.
The appointing salary for this role will be between $51,602 and $55,957, dependent on skills and experience.
The Facilities Lead General Hand is based in Facilities at EIT, reporting to the Facilities Manager, and will be responsible for:
- Supervising and mentoring
- Coordinating deliveries, furniture moves, and campus function setups
- Carrying out building maintenance and compliance checks
- Providing after-hours campus security and maintenance response
- Supporting technical operations including parking meter maintenance and pest control
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills
- Practical experience in general building maintenance
- Current driver's license and basic computer skills
- Physically capable and safety-conscious with a positive attitude
