Mō tēnei mahi | About this job
We are seeking a Kaiako to deliver
our Te Whāinga o te Ao Tikanga Level 3 programme, which
involves but is not limited to: developing lesson plans, presenting material to
tauira (students), responding to tauira learning needs, and evaluating tauira
progress.
You will be
responsible for recruiting and inducting tauira, implementing effective
teaching and assessment strategies, monitoring academic progress, and
maintaining accurate records in accordance with TWoA and NZQA requirements.
Creating a collaborative, inclusive and culturally grounded learning
environment will be essential to the success of this role.
This
is a Permanent Full-time (37.5 hours perweek)
position, based out of the Tokoroa campus. Some flexibility will
be required to work some weekends and evenings.
Mōu | About you
You will be a confident Kaiako that brings energy and creativity that
shines through in your delivery. You will be someone
who has an expert understanding of tikanga, te reo Māori, and te ao Māori, to be
able to provide our tauira with a foundational understanding of tikanga, why it
exists, and how it can manifest itself in practice.
Ideally, you will have:
- Diploma in
Mātauranga Māori (Level 5) or in a related subject - NZ Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching (Level 5) or equivalent, or be
willing to complete during the first year of employment - Full and current NZ Driver's License
(Class 1) - 3+ years' experience working with iwi,
hapu or marae projects, AND - Experience teaching adults
As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness
to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga
Māori (values, culture and tikanga) will be key.
