The Role
We're looking for a Junior Sous Chef who's ready to step up and help lead our kitchen through the next exciting chapter. Working alongside our Head Chef and Sous Chef, you'll bring creative flair, precision, and a love for great food to every service.
You'll be responsible for assisting in day-to-day operations, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring consistency across every plate that leaves the pass. If you thrive in a fast-paced, positive, and professional kitchen — this is the role for you.
What You'll Do
Support the Head & Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations
Lead sections during service and maintain high food standards
Assist with menu development and specials
Manage prep schedules and stock rotation
Maintain food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness to the highest standard
Train, support, and motivate junior team members
Work closely with front-of-house to ensure seamless service flow
What You'll Bring
At least 2–3 years' experience in a busy restaurant kitchen
Strong understanding of modern European and New Zealand cuisine
Great communication and leadership skills
A calm, professional approach under pressure
Passion for presentation, flavour, and seasonal produce
NZ residency or a valid work visa
