Nelson, Nelson, New Zealand Search Recruitment Full time

The Opportunity

Search Recruitment is partnering with Nelson Alarms, a long-established and highly respected local security services provider, to recruit a second Scheduler to join their busy Tāhunanui-based team.

You'll be working alongside their existing Scheduler, Linda, becoming the operational "co-pilot" who keeps workflow, technicians, and customer commitments running smoothly.

This is a role for someone who loves coordinating moving parts, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has the communication skills to keep everyone aligned—even when plans change (and they often do).

The Company

Nelson Alarms is a locally owned and operated market leader in security installation and servicing across the Top of the South. Their customers range from residential homeowners through to commercial organisations, construction companies, schools, and public sector clients.

Known for exceptional customer service and the ability to solve problems where others can't, Nelson Alarms is a well-supported, highly valued team environment. They are committed to providing secure, reliable, high-quality solutions that protect what matters most to their customers. Every team member plays a vital part in delivering on this mission.

The Role

This is a full-time, office-based position in Tāhunanui, working 7:45am–5:00pm, Monday to Friday. The early start ensures you're available for technician queries and able to adjust the day's plan as needed.

Your primary responsibility is to build, manage, and continually refine the scheduling workflow for technicians and customers. You'll enjoy this role if you love organisation, planning, systems, and the satisfaction of making everything "fit" like a puzzle.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Coordinating daily schedules and adapting to constant changes in priorities
  • Communicating frequently with technicians, internal team members, and customers
  • Maintaining a calm, solutions-focused approach while moving between Plan A, B, C, and beyond
  • Using job management systems and Excel confidently
  • Ensuring efficient routes and logical scheduling based on local area knowledge

This is a busy, challenging, and rewarding position where your impact is highly visible and valued across the team.

Your Profile

You'll thrive in this role if you bring:

  • Excellent verbal communication and rapport-building skills
  • Strong organisational ability and a love of planning
  • Reliability, trustworthiness, and sound ethics
  • A positive, resilient approach during busy or high-pressure periods
  • Natural multi-tasking ability and attention to detail
  • Confidence navigating systems, cloud-based job management tools, and Microsoft Office
  • Good knowledge of the Nelson/Tasman regions
  • Self-awareness, a sense of humour, and the ability to work collaboratively
  • The capability to remain calm and adaptable when plans change

Please note – Applications for this role will be reviewed as and when they are received, so don't hesitate to register your interest.
