CARTERS Gisborne is seeking an experienced HIAB Driver to deliver building materials to our valued trade customers on construction sites locally but there may be times where you will deliver up or down the East Coast. In this active and physical role, you will be responsible for safely loading orders on your HIAB truck then off-load product on site while navigating challenging accessways.

Your adaptability to different situations will be key as you may need to provide support in the yard, operating a forklift to load products and provide exceptional customer service to our trade customers. In this role you will need to:

  • Efficiently load and deliver orders
  • Navigate various residential and commercial construction sites with differing ground conditions
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to all, whether on-site or off-site
  • Support the yard team when required to load and unload delivery vans and trucks.
  • Assist with yard operations when not driving, including customer service, order preparation, and stock movement.

About you

The ideal candidate will have a commitment to outstanding customer service and support and have the following skills and qualities:

  • Full, Clean NZ Drivers Licence (Class 4 or 5) HIAB Certification and experience
  • Forklift F Endorsed Licence with OSH Certificate essential
  • A team player with the right attitude
  • A real people person with a natural talent for building trust and rapport with our customers
  • Proven awareness of health and safety legislation in this industry
  • Physically fit for the occasional heavy lifting and manual handling
