We're looking for a hands-on Technical Lead (aka Unicorn) to join our small but growing team.  This is a new role and one of the first we are recruiting, and although the team will grow it will remain a small team.

This is an exciting opportunity that has one foot in IT Operations and one foot in the DevOps world.  Here you will take a lead role managing our technology as well as being at the heart of it all as we modernise our banking stack.  Our current technology includes amongst others, Microsoft 365, our CRM Hubspot and our legacy core banking platform.

If you get excited by things like (amongst other things) ITIL, Resilience, SLA's but also by Cloud Native, Containerisation, Kubernetes, Orchestration and dare I say it – AI then this could be the opportunity for you.

This is the opportunity to have a wide ranging role that spans both the management of our IT as well as delivering a transformation that will provide a future focused platform with our customers and our people at it's heart.

In this role, you'll:

  • Build our IT operations capability across our existing applications which include Microsoft 365, our CRM Hubspot and current Core Banking system
  • Have a role in defining and delivering our Digital Roadmap as we look to modernise our banking technology.
  • Manage vendor relationships and controls as well as be across budgeting and forecasts.
  • Build and maintain relevant IT documentation and build out our knowledge base.
  • Play a visible role in governance, incident management, security and risk management as well as vendor management.
  • Build and mature CI/CD and deliver outcomes through a mix of in-house and vendor delivery.
  • Provide input and support our transformation projects, including cloud and SaaS adoption.
  • Be the guardian of our Cyber and Information Security including uplifting our capabilities and position and ensuring adherence to ISO27001.

What we're after:

  • You're a solid allrounder with a curious mindset and a passion for problem solving.
  • You're comfortable being responsible for IT Operations as well as delivering projects.
  • Your experience has been gained within  DevOps and managing cloud infrastructure.
  • An understanding of modern cloud-native technologies and ideally experience deploying applications in Kubernetes.
  • A good knowledge of Cyber frameworks and security controls and testing.
  • Experience in Incident Management and an ITIL aligned Service Desk
  • A proactive, customer-focused approach
