Kiwibank is on a journey to modernise banking for New Zealanders, and our platform team plays a key role in that transformation. We're building and running a scalable container platform, supported by infrastructure like caching and databases. We're looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer who brings deep experience in running applications and platforms reliably at scale. You'll work alongside a team of SREs and Developers, applying your knowledge across a wide range of cloud technologies.

In this role, you will:
  • Collaborate in a cross-functional agile team, delivering Infrastructure as Code iteratively
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
  • Help enhance the developer experience for teams building on the platform

Key skills and experience we're looking for:
  • Experience with Terraform (or a similar tool) for creating and managing infrastructure
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes or OpenShift, and comfortable navigating complex containerised environments
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools and practices
  • Strong experience with at least one programming or scripting language
  • Experience with managing an enterprise level platform
  • Experience with production troubleshooting and on-call support
Bonus (not essential but advantageous to have):
  • Experience working in cloud environments such as AWS or Azure
  • Experience with service mesh and mTLS
  • Experience writing Bash/Golang/Terraform
  • Familiarity with working in an Agile and/or DevOps environment
  • Have obtained CKA or CKAD qualifications
