People & Culture Advisor – New Zealand
Location: Auckland, New Zealand (Hybrid: 4 days in-office)

This role features a hybrid work arrangement, with four days in the office to promote collaboration, build strong connections, and enhance team engagement, and will directly support our mission of delivering exceptional veterinary care by ensuring all activity aligns with New Zealand employment legislation and VetPartners' values.

Join us as our People & Culture Advisor – New Zealand, where you'll be the go-to person for all people-related matters across our NZ operations. Reporting to the Australia-based People & Culture Business Partner, you'll play a key role in shaping a positive workplace experience.

You'll provide expert guidance to managers and team members on workplace policies, employment legislation, and best-practice approaches—ensuring consistency, compliance, and a thriving team culture.

Collaborating closely with our People & Culture Business Partners, Payroll, and the wider Australia–NZ team, you'll help drive initiatives that elevate employee engagement, strengthen compliance, and foster organisational wellbeing.

What You'll Be Doing:

•    Act as the frontline of People & Culture support for VetPartners NZ: respond to employee queries, interpret policies, and advise on day-to-day people matters

•    Support leaders in managing employee relations, including performance conversations and issue resolution

•    Assist in programs related to learning & development, employee engagement, well-being, and diversity & inclusion

•    Partner with Payroll, Safety, Talent Acquisition, and other functions to ensure smooth people operations across the business

What We're Looking For:

•    Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, Psychology or a related discipline

•    2–3 years' experience in a People & Culture Advisor or Coordinator role

•    Knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation and modern workplace practices

•    Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills

•    Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities

•    Empathy, discretion, and a people-first mindset
