We are seeking a Cultural Advisor to join our Tāmaki-makau-rau team to provide practical support and play a pivotal role in uplifting Te Ao Māori internally at Deloitte.

Job Description
The team you'll join:
As a cultural advisor you'll join our award-winning People and Performance team in Aotearoa who are dedicated to enhancing commercial value through collaboration. We believe that working together is key to achieving outstanding results. The team comprises of 30+ experts in Recruitment, Learning and Development, and Human Resources. In this role, you'll collaborate with various managers and report directly to the Head of People and Performance.

This role will also work closely with our Hourua Pae Rau (HPR) team, who are dedicated to partnering with Māori, government and businesses wishing to align their work with and for the benefit of Māori.

The Impact You'll Make
The Cultural Advisor will support the uplift of cultural competency in respect of Te Ao Māori at Deloitte through tasks such as:

  • Coordinate initiatives with the People and Performance team and Hourua Pae Rau leadership to uplift cultural competency of Deloitte New Zealand's people in Te Ao Māori.
  • Deliver training sessions and collaborate with external providers to deepen engagement with Māori culture.
  • Organise and execute cultural activities, including Matariki and Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori, among other initiatives.
  • Facilitate learning opportunities that enhance cultural competency across the organisation.
  • Manage meeting and event coordination, ensuring all lead to actionable outcomes.
  • Support the Early Careers Manager with Tīheru scholarship administration, tracking participant details, and coordinating internship timelines.

Qualifications
Your expertise:
Bring your passion for Te Ao Māori as well as the below key competencies

  • Fluent in te reo Māori.
  • 1-3 years experience in a cultural advisory role preferred.
  • Confident speaking in front of groups and delivering training.
  • Sound planning and organisational skills with ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships within the business at all levels.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Confident with use of Microsoft Powerpoint, Excel, Word, Teams and Outlook in a corporate environment.

While this job is advertised as being based in Tāmaki-makau-rau, we are open to applications to be based in one of our other offices in Aotearoa.
