Liverton is seeking a junior system engineer with networking skills and experience in deploying Wi-Fi and fibre networks to support our expanding client base. Projects include large hotel, build to rent, retirement and apartment projects with a steady pipeline of projects.

This role will report into the Senior Network Engineer and Service Manager, where further training and opportunities to learn and grow will be available.

A successful candidate must based in New Zealand with a valid New Zealand work visa.

1.0 Overview

An opportunity to develop as a Systems Engineer.  At least one year working with Linux and Windows server environments. This includes installation, configuration, trouble-shooting and deployment of bare metal and VM applications.

The Liverton Systems Engineer role will provide hands on input into network design, configuration of network hardware and management of ISP, Fibre and WI-FI infrastructure.

2.0 Technical Skills

  • Experience with LINUX and Windows server administration
  • Understanding of TCP IP and the network protocol stack (DHCP, DNS, Routing)
  • Excellent knowledge of computer/server hardware with practical experience deploying, designing and configuration switches, routers and WI-FI hardware.
  • Exposure to Cloud environments such as AWS, Azure or GCP
  • Customer first approach and proactive communication. Get in front of issues instead of waiting for problems to happen.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously or as part of a small professional team
  • A keen desire to get involved in many different aspects of IT and Internet technologies.
