About the Role

As the Night Shift Manager, you are responsible for leading and overseeing our overnight freight operations at the North Harbour branch. This is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the smooth and efficient operation of our overnight depot activities. Working in a fast-paced and time-sensitive environment, you'll lead the night shift freight sorting team, ensure premium service standards are consistently met, and play a key role in maintaining the high performance and safety standards we're known for.

This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday 9:00pm – 6:00am.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage depot operations during the night shift, including freight sortation accuracy and timely dispatch
  • Provide real-time decision-making and support in the absence of senior leaders
  • Monitor operational performance and proactively resolve delays or inefficiencies
  • Ensure a seamless handover with the Day Shift Manager for continuity of service
  • Lead and support the freight teams through coaching, feedback, and development
  • Recruit, onboard, and train new staff to maintain team capability
  • Manage attendance, conduct performance reviews, and address personnel matters
  • Champion health and safety by ensuring full compliance with company policies and leading branch H&S initiatives
