Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi – About the Role

Ara Institute of Canterbury is seeking a passionate educator to join our Sustainability and Outdoor Education team. This 0.8 FTE permanent role involves teaching within the Bachelor and Master programmes, embedding kaupapa Māori, contributing to research, and supporting student success. You'll work collaboratively across the faculty to deliver transformative learning experiences aligned with Ara's values and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Ngā Pūkenga Me Ngā Wheako – Skills and Experience

  • A relevant tertiary post graduate qualification
  • Current industry/discipline knowledge
  • An Ara-recognised teaching qualification e.g. NZCATT
  • Sustainability or Outdoor Education experience
  • Capable of supporting students to achieve their learning outcomes.
  • Engagement with assessment and feedback processes.
  • Digital literacy including – competence using a computer (including Microsoft office products)
  • Effective communication with a diverse range of others, at all levels within and outside the organisation
  • Sound professional judgment and integrity
  • Friendly and approachable manner
