What We're Looking For

We are seeking an experienced and confident Deputy Charge Nurse to support our clinic in Local Doctors Mount Roskill. We are offering 40 hours a week, full-time, providing leadership in delivering exceptional patient care. 

This role is primarily clinical, with operational responsibilities and leadership components.
In the absence of the Charge Nurse, you will step into an acting leadership capacity—ensuring clinical excellence, team coordination, and smooth operational flow.

You will be someone who brings professionalism, strong clinical judgement, and a commitment to creating a safe, supportive and high-performing nursing environment.

We can offer flexible working arrangements depending on your specific situation.

You Will Need to Have

  • Current New Zealand Registered Nurse (RN) qualification and Annual Practising Certificate
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical experience (Primary Care, Urgent Care, or Emergency Nursing preferred)
  • Proven ability to provide leadership in a clinical setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively and foster a positive team culture
  • Legal right to work in New Zealand
  • Compliance with the Vulnerable Children Act 2014
  • Ensure care delivery reflects health equity outcomes and upholds Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations

Key Responsibilities

Management of Nursing Care

  • Conduct accurate patient assessments to support safe and effective treatment
  • Provide nursing interventions including vital signs monitoring, wound care, POP/synthetic casting, acute eye irrigation, and administration of medications or vaccinations
  • Perform diagnostic procedures such as specimen collection, urine testing, ECGs, and venepuncture
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and compliant clinical documentation
  • Support patient education and empower informed decision-making
  • Promote a quality practice environment that ensures safe, ethical nursing care
  • Ensure all practice aligns with NCNZ standards and legislative requirements
