We are seeking an enthusiastic Retail Assistant to join our café team at South Canterbury Hospital (Timaru). This is a permanent position, offering stability and the chance to grow within a dynamic organisation..

You will be responsible for / Kei a koe te kawenga:

  • Delivering exceptional front-of-house customer service.
  • Preparing consistently outstanding coffee and handling cash transactions accurately.
  • Assisting with basic food preparation (sandwiches/rolls) and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen environment.
  • Completing general cleaning duties as required.

He kōrero mōu / About you:

You will:

  • Be hardworking, reliable, and flexible with a positive 'can-do' attitude.
  • Have excellent communication skills and a fluent command of English.
  • Ideally bring at least one year of experience in a similar role and hold a Food Safety Certificate (Unit Standard 167).
  • Have a genuine passion for great coffee, food, and outstanding customer service.

To be considered for this position you:

  • will be a New Zealand citizen or resident or be in position of a valid NZ work visa.
  • will need to Pass a Pre-employment Background Check.
