Our client is an established, end-to-end construction group that does everything from structural steel through to housing development and design. They operate in both residential and commercial spheres. A bit about you:

  • A Bachelor of Engineering from a recognized NZ Tertiary Institution
  • Be focused on or have attained your CPENG
  • Fluent understanding of NZ Regulatory Statutes for the Construction sector and experience signing off structural design work
  • Ability to lead design teams, with skills and experience developing business opportunities
  • An understanding of the back-end financials, possessing good financial acumen
  • Prior experience with structural steelwork, reinforced concrete and timber construction
  • Ability to critically review design documentation
  • Proficient in digital tools and technology for structural design and analysis
  • Full NZ Driver's Licence
  • NZ Residency/Citizenship (only those currently in NZ will be considered)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Out-going and positive personality
  • Self-starter with the ability to hit the ground running from day one
  • Ideally you'll be available within 2-4 weeks after serving your notice, and those immediately available will also be strongly considered

What you'll be doing:

  • Undertaking engineering designs for a range of building projects including seismic assessments, calculations, drawing, preliminary schemes
  • Advising on structural design requirements and documentation, site measure-ups and construction monitoring
  • Working closely with clients, contractors, and project teams
  • Collaborating with an internal team of Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, and client-facing personnel to ensure the job is done right and to a high standard
