About the role
The role of Quality Facilitator involves working closely with the clinical teams and service leadership to promote, facilitate and co-ordinate a culture of excellence in continuous quality improvement throughout the Medical and Elder Services within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora - Te Tai Tokerau.
The focus of this role is to support the evaluation and improvement of routine practice to mitigate risk and to ensure patient safety and quality improvements are identified and facilitated, current certification standards are maintained and are in line with the organisations strategic plan. This role is suited to a person who is passionate about the service user experience, continuous improvement and people engagement.
Responsibilities include the following:
- Promote, facilitate and co-ordinate a culture of excellence in continuous quality improvement throughout the service
- Maintain current certification standards in line with the organisation strategic plan
- Support services to monitor and maintain the quality and risk management goals and objectives
- Support the management of consumer complaints according to Code of Health and Disability Services Consumers' Rights Regulations (1996)
- Support the management of adverse events in conjunction with the Service leaders and Reportable Events Committee
- Report trends and gaps in service provision to Manager and Operational staff providing detailed reports with recommendations and appropriate action plans

About you
You will have experience in or understanding of the following:
- Quality assurance activities (adverse events, complaints and corrective actions)
- Quality measurement, data review and analysis
- Health and Disability Sector service standards processes
- Report writing
- Working with multi-disciplinary teams
- Commitment and genuine interest in continuous quality improvement with a strong customer focus
- A passion for providing high quality clinical care and supporting equitable health outcomes
Whilst not essential, applicants with the following will be highly desired:
- Recent experience working within in a healthcare setting
- A health-related qualification and current practicing certificate
- A quality improvement qualification
