Contract Financial Accountant
Are you an expert in financial control and statutory reporting seeking a high-impact, temporary contract role? We are looking for an experienced and technically skilled Finance Specialist to join our Corporate Reporting Team on an hourly rate basis for a critical 6-month assignment.

About The Contract
This key contract role demands accounting expertise to support the Corporate Reporting Team, with a primary focus on the timely production of quality financial information monthly, quarterly, and annually. You will be essential in ensuring robust financial governance within the Group.

Core Accountabilities Include

  • Taking responsibility for the timely preparation of Half year/interim statutory financial statements for the NZ Group Companies.
  • Providing technical accounting advice and proactively making recommendations on complex reporting and financial control needs.
  • Assisting the team with consolidation, ledger close, journal processes, including Statement of Cashflows and various GL reconciliations.
  • Preparing workpapers and responding/liaising with audit queries as part of the audit process.

Your Expertise
We are seeking a highly motivated professional with a strong focus on results, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing value-adding service.

Essential Capabilities & Experience

  • A Professional accounting qualification (ACA, CA, or CPA) and a Tertiary Qualification in Finance or Business or a related degree.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role preferred.
  • Industry experience in Insurance or Financial Services.
  • Strong demonstratable experience and technical understanding of International Accounting Standards and high-level external financial reporting/report writing skills.
  • Knowledge of Regulatory frameworks in New Zealand.
  • Proficient use of SAP/TM1 is desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
