An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Accountant to join our Auckland based Telecommunications team on a full-time permanent basis.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As an Assistant Accountant, you will assist in the responsibility of the financial integrity of the business, ensuring finance functions meet and exceed expectations set by internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will be driven, adaptable and have the ability to build successful working relationships with both internal and external client groups.

Some key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Support the wider finance team in executing daily, weekly, monthly contract financial reporting, analysis.
  • Perform month-end processes including reconciliations, accruals, journal updates, project costing, P&L, and any variances
  • Validate all data to ensure accurate, timely and detailed Monthly management reporting, and help with forecasting and budgeting.
  • Use Coins to raise purchase orders and process goods receipting in a timely manner.
  • Prepare information, provide reporting and assist with Administration function requirements.

ABOUT YOU

  • Some previous experience or/and working toward or obtained an applicable qualification.
  • People-focused, fantastic communicator and strong relationship-building skills.
  • Good excel and analysis skills
  • Strong attention to detail, adaptability and tenacious approach to work execution, particularly throughout elevated workload periods.
  • Innovative approach, continuous improvement mindset and a keenness to be involved in a team with that value humour, professional development and a positive workplace culture.
