We are now looking for a reliable individual to join our team as a Playground and Asset Maintenance Operator

What does a Playgrounds and Asset Maintenace Operator do you ask?

Reporting to the Team Manager, you will be responsible for the maintenance of the Waitaki District Councils playgrounds, sports courts, sports/fitness equipment, BBQ's, bus shelters, waterways, and parks furniture throughout the district. Your duties will include, but not limited to, basic handyman functions, playground inspections and minor repairs, playground aeration, cleaning, refurbishments, and asset validation of all park assets. At times you may be required to assist the wider team.

What we are looking for:
  • You will possess a broad range of handyperson skills and preferably have previous maintenance experience
  • Ideally, you will have completed a Playground Inspection and Maintenance Course Level 2
  • A current full driver's licence with the ability to drive a manual vehicle is essential
  • A high level of attention to detail, have a strong work ethic and demonstrate a positive attitude towards working safely
  • You will have excellent communication skills, be reliable, punctual, co-operative, and maintain positive working relationships
  • You must be able to work flexible hours to meet the client's requirements
