As an STMS, you will ensure the accurate following of temporary traffic management plans and oversee set up and pack down of road closures and diversions. 

  • You will be confident leading toolbox and closure briefings with crew, whilst providing clear job details and expectations to TMO's.
  • Willing and able to train and upskill our and junior STMS'
  • Ensure the safety of the Downer crew, subbies, and the general public

This STMS role is primarily a Monday – Friday, full time-permanent position based in Queenstown. This could involve occasional weekend and night work, and will require the ability to perform on-call/emergency response duties at times.

As an STMS, you will be a physically fit and motivated person and will bring with you. 

  • A valid STMS warrant (be it A/B or Level 1/2) is essential
  • Full Class 2 Drivers License is highly desirable
  • Strong planning skills and the ability to deal with unexpected events and problem solve 
  • Demonstrated leadership strength with the ability to guide, coach, and empower others 
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Flexibility and adaptability is required due to the outdoor nature of the role
  • Show commitment to safe work practises
