Position Overview
Our Tauranga-based team is seeking a Payroll Administrator who can inspire trust and confidence across our professional services group through their exceptional attention to detail and strong administrative skills.
This role suits a customer-focused professional with proven payroll processing experience—ideally within a small to medium-sized organisation. A calm, approachable, and solution-oriented mindset is essential to succeed in this role.
We also welcome junior-level candidates with 1–2 years of payroll experience who are eager to grow and develop within a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately calculate wages, maintain payroll records, and prepare payroll reports, including conducting peer reviews.
- Verify the accuracy of all timesheet entries, ensuring correct recording of hours worked and leave taken.
- Process all payroll transactions efficiently and within deadlines.
- Collect, calculate, and enter data to maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll information.
- Maintain confidentiality and data integrity across all payroll processes.
- Liaise with staff and management regarding payroll queries in a timely and professional manner.

The Ideal Candidate
- 1–2 years' experience in payroll administration (small to medium organisation preferred).
- Good working knowledge of Crystal Payroll, MYOB, and/or Xero.
- Highly proficient (or certified) in Microsoft Office 365.
- Thorough understanding of the New Zealand Holidays Act 2003.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Job Type: Temp to perm
Contract length: 3 months
Pay: $25.00 – $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 per week
