About the role:
We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Insights Specialist to join our dynamic Financial Crime Operations (FCO) Data and Reporting team. In this role, you will be instrumental in performing analysis, delivering operational reporting, and providing tailored insights that drive data-driven decisions to enhance our financial crime operations oversight.

Role
As a vital member of our team, you'll play a pivotal role in turning data into actionable insights that drive smarter decisions and stronger oversight across Financial Crime Operations. Your day-to-day will include:

• Empowering decision-makers by delivering clear, timely operational reports and maintaining intuitive self-serve analytics dashboards that track performance trends and SLA metrics.
• Being the go-to data expert, responding to ad-hoc requests from stakeholders at all levels—within Financial Crime Operations and across ASB—to support fast, informed decision-making.
• Driving innovation by optimising and automating reporting processes, and helping modernise our data ecosystem through Snowflake and the migration from Tableau to Power BI.
• Delivering tailored insights that help the team stay ahead of financial crime risks and improve operational effectiveness.
• Championing data clarity, providing accurate, actionable intelligence that supports strategic planning and continuous improvement.

• Strong technical expertise in data analytics, with advanced skills in T-SQL or Snowflake, Excel (including pivot tables and charts), and either Tableau or Power BI.
• Demonstrable experience in modelling, analytical techniques, and data mining.
• Ability to interpret complex data, apply standard analytical techniques, and deliver actionable insights.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, comfortable working in challenging and complex environments.
• Strong written and presentation skills, with the ability to present findings to groups.
• A proactive, customer-focused mindset, committed to delivering high-quality, accurate, and timely insights.
• Curiosity and adaptability, with a desire to master new tools as needed.
